Progression Paths represent areas of expertise that your characters can pursue, such as Melee, Ranged, or Social.
They each contain a list of Perks you can buy to improve your character’s skills in the area, using Progression Points. Most characters focus on 2–4 Paths. A traveling merchant, for example, should focus on Social, Intellect, and maybe a bit of self-defense with Melee or Ranged.
Tiers: The more Perks you have in a Path, the higher your Tier in that path is, which improves various Abilities that the path offers, and unlocks more Perks to choose from.
Paths give a large number of options for your character customization and roleplaying. If you’re ever overwhelmed by the number of choices, consult your friendly Game Master for recommendations or character builds.
