- Weapon slots represent a character’s available space for equipped, ready-to-go weapon.
- By default, an average human character has 3 weapon slots
- A one handed weapon such as a shortsword counts as 1 slot
- A two handed weapon such as a bow counts as 2 slots.
- Small weapons such as knives that don’t take much space, might not count
- Throwing weapons usually comes in pouches that can occupy 1-3 slots depending on size.
- For simplicity, players can swap between equipped weapons freely in combat.
- Taking out a weapon from inventory or putting it back in costs an action.
- Carrying more than the allotted weapon slots will incur movement and certain skill check debuffs similar to Encumbrance debuffs in D&D 5E.
